I. Introduction
The recent years, the military system in Greece has undergone a considerably thorough criticism concerning the duties performed by the reserve soldiers. However, the aforementioned research subject has not been dealt with considerable scrutiny. In this paper, the author intends to present some preliminary results based on a single soldier's military duties, derived from the first 6 months of his service. The outline of the paper is as follows: In Section II, the data used for experimentation is described. Conclusions are drawn and future directions are indicated in Section III.
II. Data Set
The data was extracted from the military record of a communications officer, specializing in usage of digital terminals and cryptography. It contains duty data from the first 194 days of his service. The aforementioned data is shown in Table I. It is clearly seen that the soldier has been stuck with way too many sentry and patrol duties. 37.8% of the active duty days (minus leave of absence) is dedicated to sentry and patrol duties. 15.9% of the total days concern leave of absence. 26.4% of the active duty days concern egress, which brings up to a rough 3 days in, one day out scheme. An astounding low of 11.6% of the active days concerns guard-house duty. Minor services, such as alert force and chamber guard do not affect the statistical significance of the aforementioned results.

All in all, it was demonstrated that a communications officer roughly has one egress each four days. In the future, more data will be available, which will offer a more concrete assessment of the current duty status for Greek reserve soldiers.
